Peterson’s Chalet Cottages – Ontonagon

Peterson’s Cottages is located in a quiet, wooded setting on the sandy shores of magnificent Lake Superior, just 15 minutes from the world-class Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park, and offers fully-equipped housekeeping cottages for the discriminating traveler.

Each lodging unit is fully equipped with a kitchen, color cable TV, phones, 1 and 2 bedrooms, fireplaces in most cottages and bath tubs with showers.

All cottages have automatic gas heat plus carpeting and paneling for a comfortable atmosphere, including all bed linens, bath and kitchen towels. Kitchens are equipped with refrigerators, ranges, microwaves, dishes, cookware, utensils, toasters, coffee makers.
Beach towels and beach chairs available for our guests.

All cottages are air conditioned and have wireless internet access. Coin-operated laundry available for guests

Snowmobile from your cottage to the excellent trails of the Western U.P., and/or experience the Alpine and Nordic ski areas of the Porkies – a winter wonderland awaits.

as the Kinks said a long time ago- '...things are getting better'- & they sure are; cooler temps and 3-5" of new snow means that the groomers will have something to work with & the trails and slopes will be in great shape; overall trail rating for today is good- very good (w/ things leaning towards very good); by the weekend... could be awesome; ... conditions seem to be headed in the right direction after our extended' january thaw'; the temps have dropped back to seasonal and we are getting snow for the next couple days; trails are listed, generally, as good-very good; come & play; ... See MoreSee Less

at the moment, winter recreation conditions are far from the best- several days of rain & warm days have pretty much ruined the trails & slopes; this 'january thaw' does make it nice to be outside for work or whatever- just not riding or skiing; by the end of this week, temps are going to be back more where they should be & several days have snow in the forecast; so, conditions will improve,& before long, this area will again be a prime winter sports area- just wait & see! ...
